Hi there — my name’s Dana Branham. I just graduated from the University of Oklahoma, and in 2018 I’ll start a yearlong internship at the Dallas Morning News. Before that, I was a social media intern at the Cincinnati Enquirer, and I spent my junior year at the University of Oklahoma as editor of the OU Daily.
As soon as I got to Norman by way of College Station, Texas, I joined The Daily’s staff as a reporter. I got my first taste of breaking news that semester, running out to cover vigils and demonstrations in the middle of the night. Since then, I’ve worked as online editor, social media coordinator and engagement managing editor, and I’ve loved every minute of it.
During my time at The Daily, I led a digital redesign for the website and our mobile app, and then a print redesign during the paper’s transition from printing five days-a-week to two.
Two summers ago, I worked at the Tulsa World as the web intern, and in September 2016, I was one of 20 students selected for the Online News Association Student Newsroom. In high school, I started my own photography business — I specialize in senior photos, engagement photos, weddings and real estate photography.
But here’s the important stuff: I love fonts, Slack, dogs and lattes, and I keep my trusty bullet journal and a pen with me at all times.
